 Fertility Nurse

Merrion Fertility Clinic is Ireland’s only not-for-profit fertility clinic with over 25 years of experience and excellent rates of success.

Located in Dublin city centre and closely associated with the National Maternity Hospital, our highly experienced consultants offer individualised care – with additional services, including reproductive surgery, pre-pregnancy genetics and pregnancy care.

We are currently recruiting for experienced nurses with a passion for fertility and patient-centric care.

This post involves all aspects of care, such as:

Attendance in theatre for all procedures:

  • Egg collection
  • Surgical sperm retrieval
  • Cyst aspiration
  • Intrauterine insemination
  • ERA testing
  • Abdominal scanning for embryo transfers

 and also includes:

  • Nurse consultations
  • Transvaginal ultrasound scanning
  • Phlebotomy
  • Communicating with patients about treatment cycles

Full on-site training is provided.

 Essential Requirements:

  • Be a qualified nurse/midwife registered with NMBI.
  • RGN or RM with hospital experience.
  • A minimum 2 years’ experience post qualification in an acute hospital setting.
  • Good interpersonal and be an excellent communicator with good listening skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, but also to be able to work without direct supervision.
  • Be proactive, enthusiastic, and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Be compassionate and sympathetic in providing care to all our patients.
  • Patient-centered care with a quality focus.
  • The ability to demonstrate the Clinic values of honesty, expertise, dedication and respect at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues.
  • Be motivated to develop of new skills sets, as required by the clinic. 
  • Understanding of a quality management system in the clinical setting.
  • Organising and management skills.

Desired Requirements:

  • Post Graduate qualifications in the fields of midwifery/fertility.
  • Experience in Pelvic Ultrasound Scanning
  • Counselling skill set/experience
  • Prior Gynaecology, Maternity/Midwifery, or Fertility Nursing experience is an advantage.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, working to provide excellent patient centred care for couples in all aspects of fertility treatment.

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility will be required as start and finish times may vary between the hours of 07:00am – 8:00pm. Weekend work will also be required on a rotational basis.
