What Does This Mean?
Merrion Fertility Clinic is Ireland’s only Not-for-Profit fertility clinic. This means that we don’t have shareholders and are not under pressure to provide profits and dividends.
We are in a position to always recommend what we believe is in the best interest of the patient based on evidence-based treatments and research.
Even though we are a Not-for-Profit, we still need to achieve an excess of income over expenditure so that we can invest in:
- New technologies – we are constantly upgrading the technologies we use in all of the services we provide.
- Research – we have a full-time dedicated Research Office and two Clinical Fellows, and we are actively involved in research and teaching at Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.
- Merrion Fertility Foundation – we help to fund our sister charity, which provides full and partial funding of people for fertility treatment based on certain financial and clinical criteria.
