Test to Check Female Fertility

Merrion Fertility Clinic can perform a test to check female fertility. Therefore, this includes hormone blood tests and an ultrasound scan.

Women who hope to conceive must take these essential initial fertility tests. While other tests for pregnancy planning include an up to date normal Cervical Smear.

Above all, we can arrange many of these tests for you. This includes in advance of your first appointment. Results are available for discussion with you and your partner at your Doctor consultation.

Types of Initial Female Fertility Tests

Ultrasound scan

This gives us a lot of information about the woman’s pelvis including checking for cysts, fibroids, polycystic ovaries, endometriosis, polyps or swollen tubes (hydrosalpinx). Additionally, we do an antral follicle count. This helps predict your ovarian reserve. In other words, it is an indicator of how many eggs are left in your ovaries.

AMH blood test:

This hormone test, in association with your scan, helps us to assess your ovarian reserve. It also helps in diagnosing polycystic ovaries.

Rubella blood test

Confirmation of Rubella Immunity.
